13 Days - 12 Nights

฿105,000 / Rider | ฿30,000 / Pillion

Thailand is globally famous for its picture-perfect beaches. With fine white sands, palm trees providing shade for sipping cocktails, and crystal-clear waters at dreamlike temperatures, all complemented by the renowned Thai smile.

Add a motorcycle to explore this paradise, along with the magnificent northern mountains, the exhilarating rides through the scenic rice fields of central Thailand, and the delightful experience of seeing the ocean on either side, and you have the ideal holiday combination for both solo travelers and couples!

When TBB Tours designed this tour, our goal was to blend some of the well-known tourist spots that offer cultural, historical, and visual appeal with breathtaking beaches that are off the beaten path, providing a true escape. We are proud to say we've accomplished this.

For the 2026 season, we will offer both directions — one traveling from Chiang Mai to the southern beaches, and another in the opposite direction.

Itinerary

(Reverse for South -> North tour)

Before diving into this, take a moment to relax and picture yourself on the bike, engine humming, with a gentle breeze on your face. Shift into gear, twist the throttle, release the clutch, and join us mentally on this incredible journey….

  • Chiang Mai - Hotel check-in begins at 2:00 PM. Your accommodation is perfectly situated near the lively city center.

  • Chiang Mai to Mae Sot – We smoothly depart and leave the skyline of Chiang Mai behind us, allowing you to get accustomed to the bike's feel. Don't settle in too much, though—once we head toward Mae Sarieng, the altitude shifts. After refueling near the Myanmar border, we take on Route 105. This road is a must-ride: a technical, border-hugging marvel with excellent grip and sweeping curves through the jungle. We'll rest for the night in the lively border town of Mae Sot.

  • Mae Sot to Nakhon Sawan – Navigate winding mountain roads followed by a fast-paced stretch into Thailand's central plains. This tour is perfectly timed to see the lush green rice fields as you leave the mountainous north. The vibrant greenery will captivate you. Before reaching Nakhon Sawan for the night, stop to encounter a curious troop of wild monkeys and hand-feed them bananas.

  • Nakhon Sawan to Erawan – Anticipate a varied mechanical challenge today ;-) Enjoy Thailand's diverse roads with plenty of curves. Break at an unusual teak temple against limestone karst formations. Continue through a nearly deserted national park with winding roads, then take a short ferry across the lake to reach your picturesque lakeside destination, with time for a swim!

  • Erawan to Kanchanaburi. Follow the lake's edge for some fast curves, visiting the beautiful Erawan Waterfall and the impressive Srinagarind Dam with its hydroelectric plant. As you ride through remote areas, watch for signs warning of wild elephants crossing the road, evidenced by their droppings. Head towards Kanchanaburi, stopping to honor those who built the Hellfire Pass at great cost. Before arriving at your riverside hotel, visit the famous Bridge on the River Kwai.

  • Kanchanaburi to Cha-Am. Depart Kanchanaburi with a stop at the War Cemetery to remember the victims of WWII atrocities during the railway construction by Japanese forces. Travel eastward on scenic national park roads, concluding the day at the renowned beach resort of Cha-Am on the gulf coast.

Welcome to the Thai Riviera!

The next three days follow the newly established Scenic Route 2021, a Thai government initiative connecting picturesque roads for an uninterrupted coastal journey showcasing beautiful views. This route offers fresh tarmac and surprisingly winding roads, delighting expert riders.

  • Cha-Am to Ban Krut. Spend the day exploring as you follow the coast to your next stop. With no rush, visit the stunning Ao Manao bay, accessible only through the local Thai Airforce base, crossing the runway. Visit the Su Suek promontory, home to the endangered Dusky Leaf Monkey, found only in this part of Southeast Asia. Enjoy a leisurely lunch at Khlong Wan Fishing Harbour, aiming to reach the beach by mid-afternoon for plenty of sunbathing time!

  • Ban Krut rest day. Relax all day on the beach, soaking up the sun or floating in the warm ocean. If you prefer, arrange non-beach activities like visiting a local market, taking a snorkeling boat trip, or exploring on your own by bike. In the evening, TBB staff will prepare a special seafood BBQ with fresh, local ingredients – bring a bottle!

  • Ban Krut to Chumphon. Enjoy a relaxed half-day ride focused on sandy beaches. The ride itself is excellent, featuring the coastal scenic route with great curves and ocean views, visiting hidden harbors and bays. Lunch at a non-touristic cove with a simple beach-side restaurant serving freshly caught seafood is idyllic.

  • Chumphon to Khao Lak. After ample beach time, start early for a full day’s ride across the country, ending in Khao Lak on the Andaman Sea. The road is a dream for riders, well-paved, curvy, and lightly traveled. Visit a unique crocodile farm along the way, observing Siamese Freshwater and Saltwater crocodiles at various life stages, from cute 1-year-olds to dangerous 4-meter giants!

  • Khao Lak rest day. Khao Lak, once devastated by the 2004 tsunami, has rebounded as a popular holiday spot. Relax on the beach or explore the town's recent history. You can also take a boat to snorkel in the renowned Similan National Park, famous for its underwater life.

  • Khao Lak to Ao Nang, Krabi. The final full day’s ride crosses from coast to coast, ending in Krabi, known for its beachfront limestone karst formations popular with climbers, sea-kayakers, and divers. A special lunch includes a boat cruise in Phang Nga Bay to Khao Phing Kan, known as “James Bond Island” from the 1974 film “The Man with the Golden Gun.” Conclude at our beachside resort in Ao Nang, with time to explore this vibrant beachfront town. A perfect end to an unforgettable holiday with a balance of adventure and relaxation.

  • Ao Nang, Krabi: check-out before 12 pm

Some notes and observations

You’re booked into a quality hotel for your final night in Krabi, but if time allows, we’d recommend at least an extra day here to take the opportunity to visit some of the tiny uninhabited islands via a privately chartered boat, which includes lunch and the chance to drop off the side and snorkel with the abundant local marine life.

The description has focused on the North to South tour, but please don’t be mistaken in thinking that the South to North tour is in any way inferior. Absolutely not! We run the same route and experience the same wonderful riding and locations. It’s entirely up to you how you want to play it. You could flip it and start with a few days lolling around on the southern beaches before joining the tour. This way, you’ll end in Chiang Mai and be able to spend time absorbing the ancient city’s history, culture, and other fine attractions. If you still have an appetite for the twisties, it’s possible to extend your tour on an ad-hoc basis for a day or more and team up with one of the TBB guides to get another fix of the fantastic riding that we are grateful to have on our doorstep.

Whichever direction you choose, you can be assured that you (and your partner) will have an absolutely unforgettable experience whilst being looked after by the accomplished TBB team, who have your safety and enjoyment as their top priority.
